Ashika is 16 and originally from Dungdunge village, Ilam in east Nepal. She has one brother, Yakesh and one sister, Yashika, and her mother who is homeless. Her father died due to throat cancer. Her and her two siblings all live at the orphanage. She is studying at Radhika Higer Secondary School. Her school is a 10 minute walk from the orphanage so she walks to the school at 9:30am. When she was picked up, she had no clothes, proper food, and use to hide because she was very shy. Today, she is not shy or afraid anymore. She likes apples very much, mangos and bananas as well. Ashika is a talented dancer. She wants to become a nurse in the future. English and Math are difficult for her, but Nepali is easy and she likes it. Football (soccer) is her favorite sport. She needs support for school, food, for school supplies, activities like school camping, and clothing.
